Let's face it. He was awful when he came on last night.
Supporters clamber for youngsters to be given a chance, but they must seize their opportunities and prove their worth when given game time. Mubama fluffed his lines last night. He's clearly not good enough. Looks like a League 1 level player to me.

I’d hazard a guess and say Moyes has sat Mubama down and said to him that he needs to model his game on Antonio’s game.
That isn’t his game and it has wrecked him
Moyes has stumbled on this Kudas, Bowen Paqueta front 3 and if Antonio was fit we never would have seen it.

If he had as many minutes as Ings we could have judged.Typical Moyes approach to the youth. Play them when we are down to 10 or continiue with 10 behind the ball.
Under a better different manager who actually allows the youth to be given a proper chance he would of no doubt prospered more. It's as if Moyes wants to say "I was right not bringing on these kids as they did nothing" .
Would love Johnson go to Brighton and become a player too.

Mubama and Marshall up front together? Not with this manager!! Love to know what is said by the manager behind closed doors on the rare occasion he gives another player a chance. I was a tad harsh on Cornet the other night but like someone said below about Mubama, Cornet looked a bag of nerves. Is Moyes putting too much pressure on them to perform or they are out.

He needs a loan spell . Anyone who's watched him in the youths .Knows he can hold the ball up . He looks as nervous as a kitten I can't blame him when you see who the manager is . Lyall greenwood and redknapp he isn't .

I don’t think mubama looks comfortable playing g up top on his own. A few times in the first game against city you could see
He was trying to do what he does with the youth team, which is making a yard of space for a shot from outside the box. But instead of having that hard, he’s getting closed down quicker. He needs some help and support - he looked good in pre season with cornet alongside him when we played a sort of 352. He also looked much better in the first game when ings came on and he seemed to drop
Out wide on the right more.
Expecting a youngster to be a target man is a big ask, that’s a huge jump from u21/u23 to first team. But he showed in the Burnley game that if you put balls in the right area, he makes the right runs. Again, in the first game against city, he was a bit unlucky when bowen played a ball across goal as he busted a gut to get through to it but bowen curled it so it cut back and went behind him

Early days but very impressed with Marshall.
Watched a lot of the youth games and has a hint of a young Craig Bellamy about him. Early days as I say.

An argument could be made that he's not had much chances to shine, but he's not doing anything with the one's he's getting.

Your post was a nonsense, you said ''yet people think Mubama will come in, score goals and hit the ground running''. Really not sure who thinks that, but I do think people expect him to have the basics in his locker after years of coaching at a PL club, yet he is miles off. That is my opinion on an anonymous forum by the way, so don't you dare challenge it :-)

Pagey - Turn it in, it's clear that this kid doesn't even have the basics as a starting point, regardless of who is standing on the touchline. But I agree that it's even harder to make it as a forward at the top level.
